Magazine Feature Stories

That's me in the corner (between Michael Stipe's left shoulder and head), that's me in the hotel-room light...listening to a private performance of "The End of the World as We Know It" for one of many multipage features I wrote for Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine. See how that Karaoke Revolution-focused story--plus several other cover features--panned out, below.
'Karaoke Revolution' Battle of the Bands
OPM, December 2003
Who better to try out this hot new singing game than the actual artists whose songs comprise the content? I caught up with Gin Blossoms, Hoobastank, Barenaked Ladies and--somehow--R.E.M. to see what they thought.
'Spider-Man' Cover Feature
OPM, May 2002

I handled this mammoth 14-page feature (most of the writing, and all of the managing of freelancers) to celebrate the release of the first Spider-Man movie and its game. What little I knew at the time...
'The Hulk' Cover Story
OPM, June 2003
Sensing a theme here?... (Just be glad I don't have a PDF of my X-Men feature in 2000.)
'Madden NFL 2005' Cover Story
OPM, July 2004
'Resident Evil' Movie Director Interview
OPM, April 2002
Upcoming Superhero Games with Mark Hamill Interview
OPM, October 2002
This feature was a bit of an experiment, as I essentially took screenshots from upcoming superhero games and created one-page comics out of them. I also got to interview Mark Hamill in person inside a Hollywood sound booth, moments after a recording session for his starring role in X2: Wolverine's Revenge.
Stan Lee and Mark Hamill Interviews
In the late 2010s, I took my actual interview recordings with Stan Lee and Mark Hamill and adapted them to YouTube videos. Pretty fun to watch, if I do say so myself...
