Many developers at Zen Studios loved games like Darkest Dungeon, to the point that we wanted to make our own game in a similar vein. To not feel like a copycat, however, we set the game in an alternate Victorian steampunk London, with circus performers filling the fighting roles typically filled by knights and wizards in standard RPGs. Of course, one other key differential was a greater focus on narrative -- and with the exception of a handful of cutscenes and some in-game descriptions, that was all me. I even wrote the trailers and other marketing material.

Circus Electrique features 15 playable character classes, each with eight special moves and other specific situations that require barks. Minus general grunts and groans, here is the Strongman's entire suite of such quips. I aim to add more.

For those who yearn to know all there is to know about the world of Circus Electrique, street battles end with a newspaper. In many cases, this includes a clickable front-page story often hundreds of words long. You can read most of them for yourself right here.
